Steel Trimmer Cleats
Our offset Steel Trimmer Cleats are designed to allow our C‑section or Z‑purlin rails to be securely installed between RSJ / universal steel columns. The cleat is bolted directly to the column upright through the flange, creating a strong fixing point while maintaining a flush finish with the web.
These trimmer cleats are widely used in mezzanine floors, platform structures and multi‑level steel buildings where precise alignment and strong load‑bearing connections are essential. The offset design ensures the purlin rail sits correctly between columns while keeping a flush finish.
They are also ideal for wall installations where the build‑up thickness of cladding, insulation and internal linings can create spacing challenges. The offset profile of the cleat allows the rail to be positioned correctly without forcing the installer to pack out or modify the column.
Trimmer cleats are supplied in custom sizes to suit your project requirements. Manufactured from heavy‑duty 6mm thick black steel, each cleat is pre‑punched with 18mm diameter holes for use with standard M16 bolts.
Custom sizes are available to suit your project’s exact column spacing, purlin depth and structural layout.
These cleats are suitable for commercial, industrial and agricultural steel‑framed buildings where purlin rails need to be fixed between columns, to allow a flush finish where build-up thickness might be an issue.
